Cultural practice is one of the main foundations of the community fabric of the municipality of Palmela. Especially the comprehensive and quality musical education that produces prolific instrumentalists, composers and practice represented around here and worldwide.

Music has a prominent place in our daily lives and is mainly linked to local associativism and to entities with a collective character, where the act of creating and re-creating seems to be organic. The strategy for its promotion and implementation is a reflection of this organicity.

The music plan is an extensive and multidisciplinary collective process that aims at drawing our attention to Palmela as a city where music and the arts grow and fertilize the future.

This action plan defines and guides public policies, proposing a set of projects and a methodology based on networking all in favour of music.

Objectives

To qualify work in the area of music; to bring together all the agents working in the territory; to continue to build Palmela as a creative community, where music is a major element.

Above all, to consolidate music as the main artistic activity of Palmela in strict cooperation with the different arts, and as a determining factor in the search for a sustainable development for this territory.

Training

Training plays a central role in this development strategy. It is based on the music schools network of the county, which ensure a diversified and widespread offer throughout the territory.

Some of the main events that take place in Palmela during the year: Janeiras, FISP, FIMP, Palmela Wine Jazz, Abril Jazz Mil, Sounds of Wine, FIG, Palmela White Party, Bardoada Festival & AJCOI, Festival PN.
