From 2019 onwards, the Municipality of Palmela and a group of its cultural and artistic agents will make their intents match in order to turn the programme Palmela é Música into a reality.

One of the most distinctive social and cultural characteristics of Palmela is its musical inclination. Culture and music are factors of differentiation, affirmation and encounter with our cultural identity. It is through the diversity of musical expressions and through the dimension that music teaching and practice assume in the territory of Palmela that we state our difference and authenticity so as to contribute to the construction of a more developed and inclusive county.

Not only do we want music to assume a new centrality in the territory and to become a "cluster" where public, private, associative, business and independent entities can converge to and cooperate towards this objective of adding value to the county, but also to make it an experience for the development of other creative areas by integrating the citizens as active participants in this strategy.
