On November 16th, at 7p.m., Cineteatro São João, in Palmela, will host the Folklore County Meeting, which will be attended by 10 folklore groups with a regular activity.
Rancho Folclórico “Os Fazendeiros” das Lagameças (Children’s Group), Rancho Folclórico “Os Rurais” da Lagoa da Palha e Arredores (Children’s Group), Rancho Folclórico da Casa do Povo de Pinhal Novo (Children’s Group), Rancho Folclórico de Poceirão (Children’s Group), Rancho Folclórico Regional da Palhota/Venda do Alcaide, Rancho Folclórico Regional de Fernando Pó, Rancho da Sociedade de Recreio e Desporto da Lagoinha, Grupo Folclórico Danças e Cânticos de Olhos de Água, Rancho Folclórico de Rio Frio and Rancho Folclórico Cultural Danças e Cantares da Região do Forninho are the ethnographic dance groups that will be on stage in this edition.
This year’s Folklore County Meeting, which includes the events agenda of the Dance Week (s), is a privileged moment for sharing experiences, for socializing and for promoting local traditions, thus contributing to a higher visibility of the rich heritage of the municipality of Palmela.
In 2014, the Municipality of Palmela resumed the promotion of this event that appreciates the work developed by the different folklore groups, and consequently the cultural and ethnographic heritage of the territory.
